The Ministry of Science, Information and Communication and the Korea Radio Promotion Association announced on April 4 that they had opened Kcontentbank, an online channel dedicated to Korean TV shows, on the Indonesian video website Vidio.com.
Vidio.com is an online platform for video operated by Emtek, one of Indonesia’s largest media companies.
The new Korean channel will officially start broadcasting in May after a month’s trial service is over.
About 6,000 videos from 17 Korean media companies are available on the channel to Indonesian viewers. These include children’s animated cartoons, K-pop performances, dramas, documentaries and educational programs.
“We will fully support Kcontentbank so that it can serve as an export hub for Korean content,” said Cho Kyeong-sik, director of the Broadcasting and Broadcasting Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Science, Information and Communication.
