One of the main roads in the new suburbs near Santa Cruz in Bolivia is called Avenida Corea. It was decided to allow South Korea’s support to support the construction of a new suburb, modeled after South Korea’s own suburban apartment community.
A new road naming ceremony was held in Santa Cruz on March 8th, attended by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
The main road is basically an eight-lane highway that runs north-south in the center of the suburbs, 80 m wide and 9.85 km long.
The suburbs are near the major cities of Bolivia in Santa Cruz, Warns and Cotoca. It covers approximately 56 square kilometers and is designed to accommodate 100,000 households for up to 350,000 residents.
Since 2014, the Korea Land Authority has shared its expertise in urban development with the Government of Bolivia by sending trained personnel to the Government of Bolivia. Other Korean companies have also invested about $ 11.49 million in this project, participating in everything from conceptualization and master planning to design.
