Smart Clothing – Smart clothing, also known as high-tech clothing, smart clothing, smart clothing, e-textiles, smart textiles, e-textiles, monitor clothing or smart fabrics, is clothing that has been enhanced with technology that adds functionality beyond its traditional use. Most smart clothing is made from high-quality fabrics with woven circuits. Then sensors and additional hardware are built in for smarter functionality. Smart garments can connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to apps on smartphones or software on assistive devices such as laptops and PCs. Through smart sensors, these smart garments collect activity indicators and key biometrics. Data is sent to an AI-powered app on your smartphone to benefit your health and performance. Clothing that monitors the wearer’s physical condition. Smart shirts and bodysuits provide biometric data such as pulse rate, body temperature, muscle stretching, heart rhythm, and body movement, and the data is transmitted to the app in real time via Bluetooth. Electronic textile prototypes date back to the 1980s, but it took more than 30 years for products to appear.

Sensors in smart clothing can monitor heart rate, respiration rate, temperature, movement patterns, muscle activity (EMG), brain activity (EEG), electrical skin activity (EDA), pressure, sweat composition, location, and more. It can also monitor environmental characteristics such as temperature, humidity, altitude, pollution level and UV index.

Signals are detected, acquired, processed and stored. It is often sent back to the smartphone via Bluetooth. Feedback can include parameters such as sleep quality, fatigue, stress, calories burned, and various aspects of movement (speed, cadence, joint rotation, stride length, symmetry) in real time. In essence, smart clothing provides a second skin that helps you understand what’s going on under your real skin.
