Minutes after major media establishments declared the winner in the US presidential election, Democratic Party leader Joe Biden wrote ‘Elected President’ on his Twitter profile. Biden wrote in a profile on Twitter, “Elected President.” Earlier on his profile, he was introduced as a senator and a former vice president. His website also immediately read “President of all Americans”.

Biden will take the oath of office of the US President on 20 January . Biden tweeted, “America, you chose me to lead our great country, I feel honored. The work ahead is difficult but I promise you, I will be the President of all Americans – whether you have given me your vote or not. I will maintain the confidence you have expressed in me.

Born in Pennsylvania in 1942, Joe Robinette Biden Jr. studied at the University of Delaware and later received a law degree in 1968. Biden was first elected senator in Delaware in 1972 and held this position six times. Biden, who became a senator at the age of 29, is by far the youngest to become a senator.
