Sweden’s automobile manufacturer is going to introduce its new generation Volvo S60 sedan in India on November 27, 2020, while the official launch will be in 2021. The car was to be launched this year only. But the Kovid-19 and lockdown forced the company to push the car launch next year. Volvo India announced the launch of four plug-in hybrid cars some time ago. It is a matter of discussion that S60 was also named in this list, all these cars will be assembled at the company’s Chennai plant. This will be the company’s second plug-in hybrid car in India after the XC90 Hybrid.

Volvo  plans to gradually phase out traditional powertrains, focusing only on PHEVs and fully electric vehicles. The company is moving towards an environmentally-friendly electric future and fuel-driven vehicles are now slowly being converted into electric vehicles. This is said to be the beginning of the era of electric cars running without engines. All Volvo cars launched after 2019 will be made electric and will also be launched in India.

The next generation Volvo S60 model coming to India is already available in foreign markets, and we have seen the global model running. Many new features have also been added to this car, such as LED headlight, LED day-time light and a sporty bumper have been given in the next part. The car comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, S90 style C shaped LED taillights and muscular bumper on the rear. The glossy color gives the car a sporty look.

The regular petrol model gets a 2.0-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine with turbo-charge, which generates 310 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The engine is provided with an 8-speed unit automatic gearbox and the car comes with an all wheel drive system. The plug-in hybrid weight also gets a 2.0-liter engine, but, at the back, includes an electric motor. Which generates torque of 413 Bhp and 670 Nm. In electric mode, the car can cover a range of up to 45 kilometers.
