Satish Dhupalia, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, of South Africa origin, died here on Sunday due to complications related to coronavirus infection (Covid-19 post complications). He was 66 and his birthday was three days ago. His family member gave this information.
Dhupelia’s sister Uma Dhupelia-Maesthari confirmed that her brother had died of complications related to Kovid-19. He told that his brother had pneumonia and he was in the hospital for one month for his treatment and he got infected by infection there.
He said in a social media post, ‘My dear brother passed away after suffering one month from pneumonia. During treatment in the hospital, he was hit by Kovid-19. In the post, he said, ‘He had a heart attack this evening.’
He is survived by two sisters Uma and Kirti Menon, who live here. These three siblings are the heirs of Manilal Gandhi, whom Mahatma Gandhi left in South Africa to return to India to complete his tasks.
